Wood Floor Sanding and Restoration in Swindon

Quotes

What You'll Pay and How We Quote

Sanding and restoration is quoted once we have seen the floor. The price depends on the size of the floor, its condition, the type of wood and the finish you want. A floor that needs gaps filled, boards replaced or old paint and varnish taken off needs more work than one that just needs a refresh, and the quote says exactly what is included.

We come out to you, measure up, look at what is underneath and give you a free quote before anything is ordered or started. There is no call-out fee for the visit.

Call us on 01793 569330 or use the form at the top of the page to arrange a visit.

What the Work Covers

Sanding takes the old finish and the worn top surface off the wood, back to clean timber. We sand in stages from coarse to fine, fill gaps where needed before the final pass, then apply a new finish so the floor looks fresh and is protected again. It works on original floorboards, solid wood floors and many engineered floors, and it is often far less disruptive than replacing the whole floor.

  • Lifting old carpet grippers, staples and nails
  • Sanding back to bare wood
  • Filling gaps and small holes
  • Edging into corners and along the skirting

Lacquer gives a hard-wearing sealed surface, oil soaks into the wood for a natural look, and hardwax oil sits between the two. We recommend one based on how the room is used.
Often, yes, as long as the real wood top layer is thick enough. We check before we quote, and tell you if a light sand or a recoat is the better option.
